Lichen Myxedematosus

Lichen Myxedematosus
It is muco – cuteneous disease. It is a rare skin disease which consists of proliferation of the fibroblast and deposition of mucin in the dermis. There are usually 2 forms of the disease generalized and localised.
SYMPTOMS:
The skin is erythematous, indurated and diffusely tightened. There is restricted movement of the face, fingers and extreme parts. 

DIAGNOSIS:
It is confirmed by laboratory testing. Thyroid levels should be normal. Para proteins are found. Chest radiography is done sometimes. 
TREATMENT:

Treatment is usually ineffective. Most common drug used is melphalan.
