Thalassemia

Thalassemia

It is a blood illness approved down through relatives (hereditary) in whom the body makes an irregular form of hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that transmits oxygen.

Symptoms
Thalassemia slight typically does not cause any indications. If it does, it reasons only minor anemia.


Diagnosis
A physician who is trying to diagnose thalassemia will characteristically take a blood section. It will be veteran for anemia and for irregular hemoglobin. A lab specialist will also look at the blood under an optical microscope to see if the red blood cells seem distorted. Strangely shaped red blood cells are an indication of thalassemia.

Treatment

Bone marrow transplant,Blood transfusions, medications and supplements, possible surgery to remove the spleen and/or gallbladder.
