Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome

It is early-onset epilepsy that is common between 2nd to 6th decades of life. 
SYMPTOMS:
I is characterized by multiple seizures. It shows similarity with west syndrome. It also shows psychological, behavioral and developmental disorders.  


DIAGNOSIS:
The diagnosis is based on the occurrence of seizures and the spike wave pattern on the EEG.
TREATMENT:
1.      Pharmacological:
              a. Approved line of drugs
             b. First line of drugs: rufinamide
              c.. Second line of drugs: felbamate
             d. Unapproved line of drugs: vigabatrin
2.      Surgical
a. Vagus nerve stimulation
b. Corpus callosotomy
3.      Others
a. Ketogenic diet

b. Intravenous immunoglobin therapy
