Cervical Discectomy Surgery: Before & After Cervical discectomy

To relieve the pressure that takes place in spinal cord or nerve roots. Cervical discectomy surgery is used, those who suffer from neck pain this operation is usually carried out on the upper spine.

On the skin part an incision is made it’s of one to two inches and horizontal. This incision is made on the left and right side of the neck .To work surgeon on front part of the spine retractions are used to separate and hold the neck muscle and soft tissue apart.

With the incision on the skin, thin platysma muscle under the skin is split in line. Then the sternocleidomastiod muscle and the strap muscles is then entered.
