This is also called dilation and
extraction which will refer to the dilation cervix which will lead to the
surgical evacuation of the parts of the uterus. Hence it is also called as
abortion, in general it is done after miscarriage to get away from infection
which should ensure that the uterus is evacuated fully.
In some of the health care centers it
might be have different names:
Dilation and evacuation (D&E),
ERPOC (Evacuation of Products of Conception), TOP or STOP (Termination of
Pregnancy).
This kind of procedure is a second
trimester which it normally prefers; the first trimester refers to manual and
electric procedure.
