Duodenal Switch Surgery: Before & After Duodenal switch

This procedure is also called as Biliopancreatic diversion with a switch which is duodenal or gastric reduction, this surgery is for weight loss patients in which aspects are malabsorptive and restrictive.

There would be curvature in great size, this surgery involves the removal of 70 percent of the stomach approximately. The surgery reroutes the small intestine in which it will create two separate paths and one channel which is common.

This digestive loop will take food from the stomach to the common channel, it is the shorter pathway. Whereas the longer pathway will carry bile from the liver to the common channel.
