Sjogren's syndrome

It is an illness of your immune system recognized by its two most common signs — a dry mouth and dry eyes. Sjogren's disease often attends other immune system illnesses, such as lupusand rheumatoid arthritis.


Symptoms
Dry eyes- Your eyes may burn, feel or itch gritty, as if there's sand in them. Dry –mouth-Your mouth may feel like it's full of cotton, making it problematic to speakor swallow.

Diagnosis
Sjogren's disease can be hard to identify because the symptoms and signs differ from individual to individual and can be alike to those produced by other diseases.

Treatment

Upsurge making of saliva- Drugs such as cevimeline (Evoxac) and pilocarpine (Salagen) can upsurge the making of saliva, and occasionally tears. Side effects may comprise abdominal pain, sweating, flushing and increased urination.
