Spina Bifida

Spina bifida

It is a developing inherited illness caused by the imperfect closing of the embryonic neural tube. Some vertebrae covering the spinal cord are not completely shaped and endure open and unfused.

Symptoms
Orthopedic irregularities (i.e. hip dislocation, club foot, and scoliosis), Leg weakness and paralysis Bladder and incontinence, including bowel control problems.


Diagnosis
Throughout pregnancy, you can have a blood examination (quadruple screen or maternal serum triple) and an ultrasound of the emerging baby.

Treatment

There is no recognized cure for nerve injury produced by spina bifida. To stop additional injury of the anxious tissue and to stop contagion, pediatric neurosurgeons function to close the inaugural on the back.
