Nocardiosis

Nocardiosis
It is a communicable infection affecting moreover the lungs (pulmonary nocardiosis) or the entire body (systemic nocardiosis). It is due to contagion by bacterium of the genus Myocardia, most usually Myocardia brasiliensis or Nocardia asteroids.


Symptoms
Produces a virulent form of pneumonia (progressive), fever, night sweats cough, chest pain.Pulmonary nocardiosis is sub acute in commencement and headstrong to typicalant biotherapy, symptoms are plainer in immuno compromised individuals, and radiologic studies show multiple pulmonary infiltrates with tendency to central necrosis.

Diagnosis
Diagnosis may be hard.

Treatment

Nocardiosis needs at least 6 months of cure, rather with sulfamethoxazole /trimethoprim or high amounts of sulfonamides.
