Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Osteogenesis imperfect
It is an inherited bone complaint considered by brittle bones that are disposed to to fracture. People with OI are instinctive with faulty connective tissue, or deprived of the skill to make it, frequently because of a lack of collagen.

Symptoms
Bones rupture easily. Fractures often present at birth, and x-rays may disclose whole fractures that happened before birth.

Diagnosis
Identifying OI is chiefly a scientific process. It is often problematic or indecisive without a physician acquainted with the illness.

Treatment

A medical process called rodding is often considered for people with OI. This action involves introducing metal rods through the length of the long bones to reinforce them and prevent or/and correct malformations.
